Wood gates, chain link gates, rolling and cantilever gates, automatic openers. Built so they don't sag.
Gates fail more than fences do. Simple reason. The fence just sits there β the gate moves 10 times a day, gets caught by the wind, gets slammed shut, and starts sagging under its own weight if it wasn't built right. Most of the gate repair calls we get in Irving are from gates another contractor put in, and they only lasted 2-3 years. We build gates so they don't sag. That means heavier hinges, proper diagonal bracing, and gate posts set deeper than the fence posts.
Single Wood Swing Gate. The standard backyard gate, 3-4 feet wide. We use stainless steel or galvanized heavy-duty hinges β the kind actually rated for the weight of the gate, not the decorative stuff from Home Depot β and we add diagonal bracing inside the gate frame.
Double Wood Swing Gate. For driveways and wider openings β 8-12 feet total. Both sides meet in the middle with a drop rod that locks into the ground. So you can back a truck or trailer through without fighting the gate every time.
Single Chain Link Swing Gate. Same idea as a single wood gate, just built in galvanized or black-coated chain link. 3-4 feet wide for walk-through gates, 10-16 feet for a single-vehicle driveway gate.
Double Chain Link Swing Gate. Two halves swinging from both sides, 12-20 feet total. Common setup for residential driveways and small commercial lots.
Slides sideways on a bottom track. Best when a swing gate needs more room than you've got β tight driveways, sloped lots, or commercial entries. Available 10-40 feet wide.
Like a rolling gate, but there's no bottom track. The gate hangs over the opening and rides on rollers on the post side. Better for uneven ground, sites with debris, or driveways where snow plows β rare in Irving, but it happens β need a clear path. Less maintenance over the long run, too.
We install LiftMaster and Eagle gate operators on both swing and rolling gates. Includes:
